Recap
To recap my life the last few days and my lack of posting: 1.)  I got a job as a 7th grade geography teacher.  HOLLAH!!  My first day was today.  I was there from 7:15am to about 4:45pm.  Then I had to go to Mardel to buy cool posters for my classroom (duh), and fill up my tank for the coming blizzard. 2.)  I was at the lake all weekend at an amazingly awesome yoga retreat where I bent my body...

Epiphany...Realization...Whatevs
Now that I am officially done with college (at least until graduate school) and am in that limbo stage between being a college student and being a full-fledged adult, I’ve had a lot of time to think, or to ponder, on my life and all that amazingly deep stuff everyone thinks about but very few actually write about.  And I’ve come to a few realizations about myself.  I enjoy thinking...

What Goes Through My Mind During SOTU
So, yes, I did miss approximately 45 minutes of the State of the Union, but once I realized this mishap I quickly tuned in.  I decided to be one of those obnoxious people who constantly tweets commentary during a big event, and I have now become even more obnoxious and compiled them here into a blogpost. I give you…my thought-process during the State of the Union Address: well…I...

Susan G. Komen Foundation Elbows Out Charities... →
This is one of those things that really grates my nerves.  Saw this on NBC Nightly News tonight.  The Komen Foundation does not own the phrase “for the cure,” and even so, why does it matter if all of these organizations are attempting to raise money for a cause, most for the same cause?  It shouldn’t matter what they call it, as long as they’re fighting against something....

Terrifying
Every time anyone begins to seriously discuss what it would be like if Sarah Palin ran for President of the United States in 2012, I have a minor anxiety attack. The thought of her running this country absolutely terrifies me.  And I only wish I was exaggerating.  That woman scares me. I do feel smart watching Meet the Press while drinking my morning coffee, though. :)

The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that...

A Comparison…purely because I’m bored. This very grainy picture would be me, at senior prom, 2006. Aaaand, just for funsies, here’s freshman year of college: And now I give you present day: I am so cool for doing this. The End.

Book Review: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
The review I posted on Goodreads: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson Published September 16, 2008 by Knopf; Hardcover 465 pages:  read Kindle version I still can’t decide how I really feel about this book. I’m somewhat wary of books that have a lot of hype surrounding them. It took the release of the 4th Harry Potter movie to convince me to start reading the books...

The Ominous Job Search Begins
I now know what it feels like to be a fresh-off-the-college-boat job searcher.  At first you are ready to go out there and show those employers what you got.  You’re optimistic that you’re going to find the perfect job instantaneously, and everything is just going to fall into place.  You start researching, you start sending out resumes, you start calling and networking and dreaming...

The Ingredients for the Perfect Winter Day
- a very comfortable bed with a very soft and cozy heating blanket - a cup of coffee in the morning to be replaced by a cup of hot chocolate in the afternoon - an array of lovely books to read and become lost in - warm soup, preferably chicken noodle or French onion for lunch and dinner - absolutely no place to be - a TV with DVD player if interested in watching movies - Netflix - fuzzy...

Someday...
Someday I want to live in a house that looks like this: Complete with the following: - a porch swing on the front porch - a kitchen with lots of windows and cabinets - a living room with a fireplace and lots of bookshelves - a sunroom at the back of the house that overlooks a beautiful backyard where I can read, paint, do yoga, or just have a cup of coffee in the morning - the backyard...

Thailand
I want to go here so bad: Beautiful beaches, majestic temples, delicious food, and an exotic and wondrous culture.  Yep, give me a one-way ticket to Thailand any day and I’m there. (Photos taken from Traveling through Thailand)
