100 years ago today, at 2:20am, the RMS Titanic sank in the middle of the north Atlantic after hitting an iceberg at about 11:40pm, April 14, 1912.  1,500 people died in the icy cold waters that fateful night.  May they forever rest in peace.
(And yes, this is my homage on tumblr.  There are some parts of history that people seem to grab onto and obsess about, and for whatever reason, I became obsessed with the Titanic and everything about it when I was 9 years old.  Yes, part of that was because of James Cameron’s epic film with heartthrob Leo and beautiful Kate, but there was something more that captured me back then than a film.  It was the 2,200 stories of the passengers on board.  And the 1,500 stories that will be lost forever.  There is something so tragic and yet somehow romantic about what happened 100 years ago, and I think that is why so many people are so fascinated by it.  And so this is me expressing my fascination.  RIP.)

  3. TODAY. IS. THE DAY.

Today is the day I completely and totally geek out and spaz out.

I’m going to see Titanic in 3D tonight and I couldn’t be more excited.

Yes, I am aware the ship still sinks.

Yes, I know that Jack still dies.

Yes, I know I saw it 9 times in theatres the first time it came out. (I was 9 ok)

Yes, I know I own the 10th anniversary special edition DVD in which I have watched the movie with historical commentary, cast and crew commentary, and director’s commentary.

Yes, I am aware I paid $16 a ticket to go see this.

    But, I DON’T CARE.

It is one of my absolute favorite movies of all time.  If they did this with Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, or An Affair to Remember, I’d be geeking out just as much right now.

    You just don’t understand.

    TONIGHT TONIGHT TONIGHT
